An Eventful 1st Bday....

Grandma & Grandpa V. arrived Thursday night and I realized that Sydney had a fever. Friday morning she woke up with 103.5 fever. I took her in to see her doctor and he basically said there were a lot of viruses going around and just keep her on ibuprofen. Then that afternoon she woke up from a nap and was screaming (like in pain) for 45 minutes and her arms/legs were shaking and her lips turning blue. So Dad and I headed to urgent care and mom stayed home with Gavin. Four and a half hours later........we found out that Sydney had a urinary tract infection and she got 2 shots of antibiotic and were sent home with liquid antibiotic. So she wasn't feeling herself at her bday party. She is much better today and has been in a much happier mood. She loves her balloons and will not let go of the string anywhere she goes. She wasn't in the mood to try the cake on Saturday so we'll have to get her a cupcake today. Yesterday she took her first 2 steps over to Gavin. This morning we went to Sylvestor Powell community center to their indoor playground and the kids had fun. I didn't get a picture of the 3 birthday people together, but will try to get one from someone else's camera. Grandma & Grandpa V. babysat Saturday night so we could go to an All Family cousin's wedding. We got to spend some time with Uncle Andrew while he was in town. It felt strange for us to be away from the kids all night as that doesn't happen very often. Grandma & Grandpa V. got some practice babysitting...as they will be returning in March to keep the kids for a week while we go on a cruise with the All/Epp's family. I have to start preparing my lists for them:)
