when it rains, it pours.....
We have had our share of sickness and injury lately. Gavin was sick with fever for 3 days, then Sydney had fever for 3 days. Sydney got an ear infection and got on medicine. Then Gavin was complaining of ear pain and I told him his ear couldn't hurt, he has tubes. Later that day, he was picking at his ear and I looked and saw mucus oosing out. I called the Dr's office that put in his tubes and they said he must have an infection and we started antibiotic ear drops. Yesterday Gavin was sitting on my lap and leaning his head back and I was pulling his arms to help him sit back up and saying boo. Then Sydney wanted a turn and suddenly she reacted with pain to her right elbow. For 2 hours she sat with her arm on her lap and when we had dinner she wouldn't move her arm to pick up anything. So I took her to the ER and she has "nursemaids elbow" and the Dr clicked it back into place and then she was fine. This could happen again, so the Dr. showed me how to put it back. http://pedclerk.bsd.uchicago.edu/nursemaidElbow.html We hope that we can take a break from doctor's for awhile, but we do have to have a follow up with Gavin's ear doc next week.

How do the children like their new home? It looks like it is large enough they have plenty of room to hide from each other. Isn't it fun being a parent. I know a family who has quads and they all got the flu at the same time and three days later the parents and big brother had it. Luckily they could call in nannies to take care of the quads who are 16 months.

Oh no, poor Sydney! I have a friend whose daughter has nursemaid's elbow. They've gotten to the point where they can pop it back in themselves. Hopefully, Sydney's won't happen again and you won't have to worry about it!
