On Saturday, our street had a block party. They blocked off the street and 2 couples in the middle of the street hosted and we all brought side dishes. Then the Prairie Village Firemen came by for a visit, as well as the mayor. Gavin got to sit in the firetruck which he thought was pretty cool. I think he has at least a half dozen cookies because he kept running up to the table to get more. One of the firemen asked to hold Sydney too so she got her picture taken as well. Tomorrow we are off to Manhattan Beach, CA where my brother lives for a weeks vacation. We are taking out 10 year old niece with us. My parents drove there from Arizona. And Aaron's mom will fly in the for weekend. And Aaron's brother, Andrew, who also lives in LA will come over for a visit too. We rented a house on the beach. I found this great company called the Traveling Baby Co. that we can rent all the baby equipment from so the only big items we are taking is Gavin's carseat and an umbrella stroller....whew! It will be fun to play on the beach with the kids and we may go to Disneyland one day. I'm sure we'll have lots of pics to share when we return!

It looks and sounds like you had a ball at the neighborhood party. How neat to have the firemen and the mayor stop by. Have a great trip to LA.
Aunt Cecilia
I wish our neighborhood would do something like this, but we are definatly the youngest ones out here, by quite a few years! Cool about the firemen coming out for a visit. Have a wonderful time in CA, build a sand castle for us!
