Back from the Beach!

We had a great vacation in Manhattan Beach. Our rental house was right on the strand and we enjoyed our view of the ocean! Gavin loved playing in the waves with Grandpa! Whitney (our niece) enjoyed boogie boarding and learning to surf from Shane....and she was a great helper with the kids. We got to see lots of Uncle Andrew and he enjoyed getting to know the kids better. I think I spent more time with Brenda (Shane's girlfriend) than I did with my brother. But I enjoyed getting to know her. She was so nice to go to Disneyland with us and help us out! Gavin loved the teapot ride and he enjoyed the parade. Grandma Ellen and Whitney babysat one night so we could go to see Jay Leno in Hermosa Beach. Sydney learned a new trick on vacation....she now rolls across the room. The other night she rolled under Gavin's crib. Grandma Pat put her knee to the final test walking around the hills and beach. She returned from vacation to have knee surgury today. I think Gavin's favorite thing about vacation was walking on the strand with his monkey backpack on.....ok, it is a leash, but it gives the wildman some freedom to walk without us chasing him. It took both our families to get us through a vacation with these little ones, but we all had a great time! The kiddos did pretty well on the plane too, with help from Whitney to carry all the bags (literaly she had backpacks on the front and back of her!) and get us snacks, bottles, etc:)
