Sydney had her 6 month check up this week. She is 16 lb 10 oz and 26" long. She is still in 75th percentile for height and weight. She has started solids and so far likes squash the best. She is in a major mama stage. She cries if I walk out of the room and sometimes even being in the same room isn't enough I have to hold her. She is showing fear of strangers and sometimes cries when someone she doesn't know smiles at her. She loves to watch other kids though. This week we went to play at the mall since we had so much rain and while Gavin was playing, she was just cracking up at all the kids. She is beginning to try to sit up, I don't think it will be long.
Gavin was evaluated for speech therapy through Johnson County Infant Toddler Services. They found that his language is in the average range, but he does have some articulation errors such as leaving some ending sounds off and has an extra "k" sound in the back of his throat with some words (maybe leftover from Russian language...I don't know). So he is going to start speech therapy next week. His therapist is a girl that was in my sorority at K-State and lives close by. We are also filling out paperwork to prepare for our post-adoption report for one-year post placement. Can you believe we are already approaching one year since our GOTCHA Day (September 13, 2007). We will prepare pictures to send to Russia as well. People at the orphanage will get to see these (I would love to see their reaction at how he has grown!). He is still a busy boy as you can see in the picture below....we aren't sure how this happened?

You surprised me. I have been on the Internet several times today and just now saw your post. The kids have grown a mile since we have been there. I am sure Gavin's Therapist will have fun teaching him new sounds etc. as he loves to perform.
Sydney is growning too, she is just going through a phase with recognizing people. She will be crawling before you know it.
